Quran Ke Tarikhi (Historical) Maqamat - PART 6
Yusuf lived all his life confronting schemes made by the people closest to him. His brothers plotted to kill him, but they amended it to exiling him. This happened to him while he was a boy. He was sold into the slave market in Egypt, where he was bought for a nominal sum. Then he fell victim to the attempted seduction by a great man's wife who, when her wish was foiled, sent him to prison, where he remained for some time. In spite of all of this, he at length approached close to the Egyptian throne and became the king's chief minister. He then began his call to Allah from the position of the ruling authority.
Prophet Yusuf (A.S) was jailed under the orders of the Aziz of Egypt. When his companion in the jail was being released Prophet Yusuf (A.S) requested him to recommend his matter to the Aziz so that he too be released. At this Hazrat Jibraeel (A.S) appeared in the jail and made him look at the floor of the jail. When Prophet Yusuf (A.S) did so he could see the bottoms of the earth and sea. He also saw in the bottom of the earth an ant with a particle of grain in its mouth. Jibraeel said, "Do you think that your Allah who does not forget even this ant at the bottom of the earth and feeds it, would let you go out of His mind?"
"Now for this impatience of yours you are ordered to remain in jail for seven more years."
Hazrat Shoaib (a.s.), the prophet of Allah, was approximately 250 years old.
Hazrat Shoaib (a.s.) prohibited the people from committing such contemptible deeds, and also reminded them about Allah's chastisement. But people mocked at him and said, "You want us to worship as you worship? You expect us to leave the religion of our forefathers? You expect us to employ some other method in our trade? You want us to deal honestly and suffer losses? Never! Certainly we will never heed you! Since you have become old and also have children, we pardon you. Else we would certainly have stoned you to death'!In any case, Allah answered the prayers of Hazrat Shoaib (a.s.) and an earthquake destroyed the inhabitants of Madyan. After the destruction, he (a.s.) was appointed for guidance in another region near Madyan. These people were also like those of Madyan, and would say, "You are human like us, and you are a liar! Indeed if you are true, then tell your Allah that a part of the sky should fall on us and destroy us."
After tremendous efforts and propagation, when these people did not discard their evil ways, Allah produced intense heat in that area and consequently, wherever there was water, it began boiling. This (form of punishment) continued for seven days. At last a piece of cloud was seen in the sky and people gathered under its shadow, as it was very cool. But soon by the order of Allah, the cloud started raining fire at the disobedient nation, and everything turned into ashes.

30 mins before the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China
Bizarre colorful (luminous/glowing) cloud phenomenon in the sky was observed about 30 mins before the May 12, 2008 Sichuan earthquake took place. This was recorded in Tianshui, Gansu province ~450km northeast of epicenter, by someone using a cell phone.

These clouds seemed to be glowing or somewhat luminous and seemed to resemble some characteristics of the Auroras. I am not sure exactly what they were or whether they indeed had anything to do with the quake. I am no expert anyways. See if any scientists are willing to give a full explanation.
If such phenomenon can be proved for its connection with earthquake occurrences, maybe they could be used as warning signs and would be life saving. If not, just learn these clouds as yet another rare atmospheric phenomenon and no need to panic when seeing them.
After all, this might well be just a rare atmospheric phenomenon occurred by coincidence. Though, just wondering if there's any possibility the formation of such rare clouds be catalyzed by any event??
