Georgia at the polls, May 2008
Georgians from the Young Lawyers are travelling around the country to help their fellow citizens fully exercise their democratic rights. Campaigns like these were carried out to explain the process of voting and voters rights as well as to encourage people to get out and vote. The parliamentary elections in Georgia were an important test for this young democracy. The EU and UN are fully committed to the principles of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Georgia and they support initiatives that will lead to a stable democracy in this country.
