Gurudwara Sri Dera Sahib, Lahore TM.mpg
Gurudwara Dera Sahib is situated in Lahore and adjoining to it are Lahore Fort, Badshahi Masjid and Tomb of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. This is the place where the pilgrims from India, first of all are transported from the Indo-Pak border check in and are kept under the strict vigil and security of Pakistan Security forces. The Gurudwara was constructed at the bank of River "Raavi" which now had changed its current and gone far off from this place. The Gurudwara is constructed in memory of Sri Guru "Arjan Dev" Ji who was ordered death sentence by the fanatic King of India, but instead of that, the Guru asked for a dip in River Raavi and and merged his soul in Almighty. Opposite to Gurudwara is "Minare Pakistan" constructed by Saudi Arabian Government in memory of Mr. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, who founded Pakistan. The Gurudwara is managed by Sikh Community of Pakistan and is well managed. Any one irrespective of his religion, cast creed and country can stay at Gurudwara without any charges and can have free Langar (a typical name for the food which is respected as already offered to Supreme soul and then distributed to gathering). We were there on 3rd, 4th 8th, 9th, 10th of March 2008 as pilgrims to Shri Katasraj - Shiv Temple, situated at Katas , Tehsil Choa Saidan Shah, Sargodha, Kaller Kahar, District Chakwal of Pakistan. The video was recorded on the very days.
